CITRIS, the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society, and University Extension are proud to invite you to the
2nd Annual CITRIS Agricultural Technology Fair on March 8, 2017 from 9am to 3pm. This event takes place during University of California, Merced’s Research Week; a celebration of the significant and innovative work being conducted at the university.
CITRIS is focused on translating ideas into real-world applications in the many sectors that affect the lives of all Californians, from data analytics, to renewable energy and smart transportation, to new discoveries in water information management. It is our belief that this showcase of emerging technologies, backed by cutting-edge research and entrepreneurial innovation, will place the San Joaquin Valley on the map as a place for new ideas and a transformative impact in the agricultural technology sector.

UC Merced Extension and CITRIS AVIATION Drone Courses
ENGR.830.1 Introduction to Drone/UAS/UAV Safety and Use $300.00 Enroll now! Click here
This one-day course prepares participants to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Unmanned Aircraft General (UAG) test to earn a Remote Pilot Certificate with a Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) rating. The Remote Pilot Certificate with a Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) rating is required in order to fly drones commercially.
The UAG test is not included in this course. Individuals will need to register separately for the test with an FAA approved site.

This course provides three hours of hands-on UAV experience, focusing on safe drone operation and best practices. Students will be training on simulated and actual rotary-wing drones (multi-rotors), engaging in direct piloting as well as autonomous flight. Classroom time will be used to prepare the missions and introduce students to checklists/procedures
