Our program provides an entry-level training program that focuses on community and clinical linkages which are programs or activities that connect clinical services and community programs or social services.

Participants will understand how to connect communities-in-need to assistance and services available in their county.

Certificate Requirements

These courses are only available through the program. To enroll in the course, you must enroll in the Community Helath Worker Specialized Training Certificate program.

PH 823.1 Role of Community Health Worker

The 40-hour course will teach the skills necessary for trainees to receive the UC Merced Extension and California state-issued CHWP/R Certificates. This course includes 5 hours of fieldwork (paid or volunteer).

PH 823.3 Community Health Worker Skills & Competencies

This comprehensive training equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to serve as effective community health workers. They will engage in a combination of theoretical learning, practical exercises, and real-world applications to prepare them for the diverse responsibilities of the community health worker role.
